Black Knight coloring.

The Black Knight in Marvel has had a number of costumes; sadly, this one – which is by far my favorite – was probably the shortest lived (I love the helmet) – an artist posted his B&W drawing and I decided to color it (mind you, I am no expert – I just do it for fun – because it helps sooth my brain – which is in need of much soothing of late).

Odin – 03/22/2004 to 04/09/2021.

If you know a little too much about me, you’ve probably heard me talk about my dog Odin. We adopted Odin 17 years ago – his birthday was just a few weeks ago. At 17 years of age, for a Husky, he’s had a very, very long life – and one that was extremely pampered (he’s been to more hotels than I can count on my hands and toes… and that is not an exaggeration). Amiee and I had to make the toughest call we’ve ever had to make – his health was declining, and he was struggling – so we paid to have someone come to our house, in the backyard, and with amazing tenderness and caring, eased Odin to his Forever Sleep.

At 3pm, Odin drifted to sleep for the final time, with Amiee and I at his side. He blessed us for 17 years; and he will always be here in our hearts. Fly with the Valkyries Odin – and find Abby, Emma, and all of those who now walk with you. We will always love you.
– Tawmis & Amiee

This is not the end. This only “Until we meet again.”

X-Men Legends

X-Men Legends is a dream come true for me – at least the first two issues. Written by Fabian Nicieza – with art by Brett Booth and inks by Adelso Corona – the first two issues focus on none other than Adam-X.

X-Men Legends is essentially X-Stories that were planned, but never got told for whatever reason. And Fabian had set up this story of “Summers Brothers” (that everyone locked on as a “Third Summers Brother”). Well, Fabian left the books before he got to finish telling the story – and Adam-X, whom I really enjoyed – sat in a virtual limbo for years – before seeing the light again during the Dark Avengers (where he was used, but his dialogue was very much a parody of the 90s for which many call him the embodiment of – but that’s because he never got developed due to Fabian’s departure). He began appearing again during the Hickman era of the X-Books recently (don’t get me started… at least in Dark Avengers, I was thankful to see him – so far during the “Hickman Era” – his cameos in X-Factor are not my thing…) But… that said… going back to X-Men Legends…

Fabian finally gets to tell Adam’s story – and it’s all in continuity. Officially.

And the first issue is absolutely incredible.

New DEFENDERS teased.

So Marvel is teasing a new Defenders title – what makes this interesting for me is who we see on those cards… Cloud, Hulk, Moon Dragon, Valkyrie, Beast, Hellstrom, Namor, Silver Surfer … and I am not sure who the red vulture person is. Red Raven?

I collected the original Defenders title when it was released – and enjoyed it for the most part, back in the day – but it really picked up for me with Defenders #124 and going forward – this is when Iceman, Beast and Angel join the team – and I feel like this was some of the best development this trio got (which is ironic, since it’s not in an X-Book) – but the team also had Gargoyle and Valkyrie in it – eventually Moon Dragon, and eventually Cloud. It was a very different book. It went away from the “not team team book” that the original Defenders had, but more of a “team book that’s a team but a very casual team” book. The book introduced some unique villains – and even introduced a character I enjoyed name Manslaughter. (I like characters that have different powers – his was a form of limited telepathy). I am admittedly curious about this book…

“I Am Hexed” – Issue #4 – Kickstarter!

James Emmett reached out to let me know about their Kickstarter (and my lameness, forgot to rapidly get back!) – but hopefully I can make up for it, because their Kickstarter just went live, yesterday!

So what is I Am Hexed?

The wickedly anticipated final installment of the four part comic book series I Am Hexed — by writer/creator Kirsten Thompson and interior artist Amagoia Agirre, with a cover by Paulina Ganucheau, a variant cover by Jenn St-Onge and lettering by Taylor Esposito —is set to launch on Kickstarter February 16, 2021. The campaign will also have a plethora of extra rewards including prints by a variety of amazing artists, buttons, key chain and much more!

I Am Hexed is a supernatural political thriller. There’s magic, mystery, personal drama, and an accidentally carnivorous plant.

Witches have been a part of the political fabric of Washington

D.C. since it was founded. It’s only since the 1960s that witches stood together and fought to take back the word “Hexed”. A movement was ignited when witches came out of the shadows and proudly showed off their broomsticks.

Now with the struggle for equality ongoing, Charlotte “Charlie” Helm, a junior staff member for Senator Royce, has been thrust into the murky and dangerous waters of political games between witches and their adversaries. Charlie goes on the run to find out who’s behind it with her ex-girlfriend Jaya and her friend Florence, who is a witch well versed in science-magic.

The witch-hunt for Charlie, Jaya and Florence continues in the final issue as they find themselves on the run from malevolent forces both inside and outside the government. The three witches must harness their powers to defend themselves, while unraveling a mystery that could save the entire witching community.

If you have the coin – support the Coven – head over to the I Am Hexed Kickstarter and toss the Witches some coin!

Why Amiee Loves Dazzler?

Was talking to one of my D&D players, and how they’d listened to our latest podcast (shout out to Ben Abell) – and we discussed cartoons and Amiee’s lack of watching them – but I did say she was familiar with the X-Men and even played the Marvel RPG. This character sheet is OVER 20 years old because it predates me and her being married!

When you’re a super hero in a movie theater, and Sentinels show up, and you take cover in the crowd…

Comic Relief Podcast – Issue #36 – The Randolorian.

And no, that’s not a typo!

Newest issue of the Podcast is up! The Randolorian! And before you think that’s a typo and it’s supposed to be Mandolorian – don’t worry faithful listener, I know what I am doing… usually! It’s titled The Randolorian because while we were originally going to begin discussing the first four episodes of Season 2 of the Mandolorian – we ended up discussing The Mandolorian, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Clone Wars, Original Star Wars Trilogy, Star Wars Prequels (to some regard), Star Wars Sequels and even talk about how selling and working with LucasArts and Disney works. So there’s just a little bit of everything.

You can stream it below – or you can download it here.
